Quest
Quest is Sport England’s recommended Continuous Improvement Tool for leisure facilities and has been designed to measure how well a facility is operating and how effective organisations are across a range of topics. The Quest scheme is managed by Right Directions, on behalf of Sport England.
Established over 25 years ago, it is an extremely well-respected award and continues to evolve year on year with the ever-changing pace of the sport and leisure industry.

Quest Standards & Accreditations
Have you ever considered achieving two prestigious awards in one hit? All Quest accreditations and standards can be completed alongside a Quest assessment, or independently as standalone assessments.
Tackling Inequalities
The Tackling Inequalities Standard looks at how leisure operators can provide more inclusive and accessible physical activity opportunities for people from a range of inequality groups.
The Standard can be completed as part of a one-day Quest Assessment, or as an independent standalone assessment.
More information is available by clicking the button below.
Exercise Referral Standard
The Exercise Referral Standard was launched back in September 2022 and aims to provide a set of quality operating standards to help drive improvements and consistency in scheme delivery. It will include a review of the exercise referral scheme policies and procedures in conjunction with an observation of the delivery of the scheme.
The Standard can be completed alongside a one-day Quest Assessment, or as an independent standalone assessment.
Learn to Swim
Swim England Learn to Swim Accreditation is a quality mark for swim schools and operators delivering the Learn to Swim Programme. Learn to Swim Accreditation recognises excellence in governance, sustainability and effectiveness and raises the profile of your Learn to Swim Programme offer.
This includes swim schools, school swimming programmes, local authority operators, leisure trusts, private leisure providers and multi-site organisations.
The Standard can be completed alongside a one-day Quest Assessment, or as an independent standalone assessment.
The Active Standard
Right Directions has worked alongside ukactive to produce The Active Standard, which is a baseline accreditation for ukactive members. Member operators will be required to register their facilities for them to be assessed on a quality scale. Acknowledging the different levels of knowledge and experience across the sector, some organisations will be able to evidence how they already comply while others will be supported to work towards achieving accreditation to TAS. Once completed, TAS certificates can be publicly displayed and promoted.
TAS will support operators and suppliers in the public and private sectors to demonstrate effective compliance with the law and other formal requirements, helping to strengthen resilience to reputational and operational risk and contributing to safer participation for consumers.
