Transgender Awareness Online Course

Course Overview:

The Transgender Awareness course is designed for managers working within the leisure industry, aiming to enhance understanding of transgender identities and provide practical advice for creating a welcoming and affirming atmosphere in both professional settings and leisure facilities. The goal is to foster inclusivity and support for everyone.

The course consists of 3 modules, where we will cover the following topics:

Module 1:  Understanding the basics of Transgender Identity

• Know the key terminology
• To understand some of the challenges of being trans

Module 2:  Transgender Inclusion in the workplace

• Why do we need to talk about transgender in the workplace?
• What the law says
• Transgender employees
• Employer considerations

Module 3: Creating Trans-Friendly Leisure Centres

• Leisure centre considerations
• UK Active Guidance
• Signposting and further resources

The entire course should take no longer than 2 hours to complete.
