The First Aid Awareness in Sport online training course is aimed to raise awareness of how to manage first aid incidents within a sporting environment; which includes roles and responsibilities of a First Aider, how to minimise risk, assessing incidents, along with various scenarios that you may encounter, such as managing unresponsive casualties.
The course covers the following topics (Guided Learning Time is 5 hours):
Module 1: Introduction
– Roles & Responsibilities of a First Aider
– Minimising risk
– Consenting to First Aid
Module 2: Assessing an Incident
– Scene Surveys
– How to complete a Primary Survey
– Calling for assistance
Module 3: Incident Management
– Unresponsive casualties
– Choking
– Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
– External bleeding
– Shock
– Suspected head and spinal injuries
Assessment Method:
25 question assessment at the end of the course, with an 80% minimum pass score.
Course aim:
The course has been designed for sports clubs, to give their members a general understanding of how to manage various incidents that may occur within a sport setting, to support whilst waiting for qualified medical help; so, no experience is required.

How is the course presented?
Voiced presentations, module descriptions and a selection of animated/ factual videos.
Will I get a certificate?
A certificate will be emailed directly to you upon completion of a multiple-choice assessment.
