Level 2 Automated External Defibrillator (1.5 hours)
This focused qualification gives learners the essential knowledge and practical skills to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) safely and confidently during a cardiac emergency. It’s designed for anyone who may need to respond quickly in the workplace or community.
Face-to-face course details
This qualification should be completed alongside one of our first aid training courses and provides staff with the knowledge and confidence to recognise a cardiac arrest, perform effective CPR, and use an AED safely and effectively until emergency services arrive. Ensuring your team is trained means you’re not only meeting your duty of care, you’re creating a safer environment for everyone who visits your facility.
Please note: If you are based in Scotland, Southern Ireland, Northern Ireland, or Jersey, additional costs may apply.
Course Overview
Having a defibrillator (AED) on-site can make the difference between life and death in the event of a cardiac arrest. In a leisure centre environment, where people of all ages and fitness levels are active, being prepared to respond quickly is essential.
This additional qualification builds on candidates’ life-saving skills, particularly in responding to cardiac arrest. It offers a more comprehensive approach to emergency situations by enhancing confidence and capability in both general and cardiac-specific scenarios.
Please note: This course must be taken alongside one of our first aid qualifications — it’s not available as a standalone course.
